Client’s Objective

DCJ has been in existence since 2000 and have been an online knowledge center for people in the Data Center environment. They have a community of 13,000 members and want a new site that will foster community amongst the members by giving them networking opportunities and direct communication abilities. Client required that this be built in a content management system that was secure and easy to use without any web design knowledge.

Challenge

The site to be built would have a number of new features that facilitate community and create a rich user experience. It also had to incorporate a newsletter tool for the administrator to send out e-newsletters to the community in a more visually appealing manner. The new site would also be used as a lead generator not just for DCJ, but for the members of its community that are interested in generating leads from this community. Client wanted a number of applications that will be custom built to achieve client’s objective.

Results

The project was broken up into 3 phases; visual & structural, application development and integration, and transfer of existing database and testing. The result was a new site that integrated a number of custom built applications into a site that carried a new look for the company. With all the features built into the site, it does not look cluttered and the navigation structure is user friendly and intuitive. The database was transferred and integrated into the new site and the best part about this is that the membership has grown by 1000 new members each month since the site was launched.
